Wir zeigen den Film FINITE: The Climate of Change - open air im Schlossgarten

Trotz des drohenden Klimazusammenbruchs werden immer noch neue Kohleminen in Betrieb genommen und erweitert. Im Hambacher Forst nahe Köln steht nur eine engagierte Gruppe junger Aktivisten zwischen Kettensägen und uralten Bäumen. Robyn, Indigo und Clumsy leben in Baumhäusern, um den Wald zu verteidigen und für den Klimaschutz zu kämpfen ­–  gegen Europas größten CO2-Emittenten, RWE. Während eines monatelangen Ausnahmezustands erreicht ihr Kampf einen Wendepunkt, als die Polizei den Wald räumt und Chaos ausbricht.

Julia, June und ihre eingeschworene Gemeinschaft leben weniger als 300 Meter von einer geplanten Mine im Pont Valley in Nordostengland entfernt. Nachdem sie 30 Jahre lang für den Erhalt des Tals gekämpft haben, in dem ihre Kinder aufgewachsen sind, kündigt die Banks Group an, dass man in Kürze mit dem Kohleabbau beginnt. Der Widerstand formiert sich erneut…  

Mit authentischen, persönlichen Geschichten, die über drei Jahre hinweg in der Klimabewegung dokumentiert wurden, will dieser Film die Augen öffnen für das, was in unseren „grünsten“ Gebieten auch heute immer noch passiert.

Despite the threat of climate collapse, new coal mines are still being opened and expanded. In Hambach Forest near Cologne, only a dedicated group of young activists stand between chainsaws and ancient trees. Robyn, Indigo and Clumsy live in tree houses to defend the forest and fight for climate protection - against Europe's biggest CO2 emitter, RWE. During a month-long state of emergency, their fight reaches a turning point when the police clear the forest and chaos breaks out.

Julia, June and their tight-knit community live less than 300 metres from a proposed mine in the Pont Valley in North East England. After 30 years of fighting to preserve the valley where their children grew up, the Banks Group announces that coal mining is about to begin. The resistance is forming once again...

With authentic, personal stories documented over three years in the climate movement, this film aims to open people's eyes to what is still happening in our ‘greenest’ areas today.
