"Fachschaftenreferat"
aka AStA contact for all student councils
The Fachschaftenreferat is always available to answer any questions or suggestions you may have. You can reach the responsible department at .
However, you can already find most of the information on this page and in the FSK-Wiki (only available in german), please read these carefully before you write to us.
Website
Student councils have the option of using the university's CMS (further information can be found here). In addition, the AStA offers free, flexible web hosting. You can find more information here.
Financial Requests
The submission of financial requests is documented in the FSK-Wiki. The information below still applies. Both the wiki and the following information are intended to serve as an aid for student councils, are based on empirical values from previously approved applications and make no claim to completeness or general validity.
It is important that you read the information provided here and in the FSK-Wiki carefully, both for submitting financial requests and for billing. We will keep this information as up-to-date as possible.
Bundesfachschaftentagungen (BuFaTa)1
aka Student Council Conferences
Participation fees and travel expenses for attending national or international student council conferences are covered by the AStA. If the delegations consist of more than 5 people or participation in the BuFaTa incurs costs of more than 500€, the financial request must be discussed and confirmed at the FSK. In exceptional cases, this can also be done by circulation.
For requests over 500€, the request must be approved by the students parliament. For this, an opinion of the FSK is required first.
Please always include the following information when submitting applications:
- How many participants are coming?
- How much is the participation fee?
- How do you plan to travel?
- When is the event?
Student councils at TU Darmstadt that would like to organize a student council conference themselves can receive more extensive funding. Please contact the Finance Department ( ) so that the budget funds can be planned accordingly.
Strategy Weekend2;3
It has proven to be a sensible measure for student councils to travel to a youth hostel together to discuss the work they have done so far and develop it by setting new goals. The AStA supports this by covering the costs of accommodation and meals. Thanks to the Germany semester ticket, transportation costs should only be incurred for materials, which will also be reimbursed. For all organizational questions, please refer to the separate handout/information for strategy meetings.
Costs for Organizing the FSK3
All student councils are responsible for organizing the student council conference at TU Darmstadt in turn. There is always a selection of drinks and snacks, the costs of which are reimbursed by the AStA. As these take place regularly, no financial request is necessary. Please submit the receipts with the corresponding note to the Fachschaftenreferat or finance department. For all organizational questions, please refer to the separate handout/information for the organization of the FSK.
Promotional Material2;4;5
If student councils would like to advertise their own events, activities or general offers, the AStA is happy to support them in the creation and production of advertising materials. The Design Department is happy to help with the design of flyers and posters. Printing can be carried out by the TU's duplication office, the AStA's standard print shop, on the AStA printer or by the student council itself. For the operational support of the AStA, please contact the Fachschaftenreferat.
Students Council Newspaper2;4;5
If the student council publishes its own newspaper to present its own work, to promote the university elections or to report on developments in the department, the AStA is happy to support this.
In order for the costs to be covered, it is important that the newspaper is written entirely in gender-neutral language or is gendered. Please pay attention to this when creating the texts. The AStA will cover the costs for printing; the inside section should be in black and white, the cover may also be printed in color.
Office Equipment (Printer, Server, Telephone)
The departments are usually responsible for ensuring that the various student councils are properly equipped. Should there nevertheless be a shortage, the corresponding requests will be treated sympathetically. In the past, this particularly concerned printers, stamps, office chairs, etc.
Events to Recruit young Participants2;3
As there are rarely too many active students in university politics, it is advisable to hold regular recruitment events. This could be an open meeting with a separate introduction and free catering. The AStA is happy to support such events as long as proportionality is maintained.
Alumni-Meeting3
To refresh former expertise, it may be advisable to organize meetings with former student representatives. For example, you can discuss the history of the student council or the development of the department and the TU over a barbecue.
Notes:
1 The travel expense regulations must be observed.
2 The introductory and orientation events are the responsibility of the individual departments and can therefore not be taken over by the AStA. This also includes seminars for tutor training etc.
3 The consumption of alcohol does not fall within the remit of the student body and is therefore not supported by the AStA.
4 For political reasons, environmentally friendly, ecologically sustainable production processes and fair working conditions are a prerequisite for all external services.
5 The AStA attaches great importance to the use of gender-appropriate language in publications. Discriminatory content of any kind is also unacceptable. More detailed information on this can also be found in the guidelines for applying to student body events.
