Steps in the case of a request to leave the country:

Steps in the case of a request to leave the country with a threat of deportation:

Some students are currently receiving a letter from the immigration authorities with the subject 'Request to leave the country with threat of deportation'.
Once you have received this letter, please follow these steps:

1) Contact our lawyer for immigration law, Mr. Eilhardt, under this email: eilhardt@asta.tu-darmstadt.de

2) Describe your situation and also send the letter you received from the Immigration Office as an attachment

3) Write down exactly how and when you contacted the Immigration Office. If you have call logs, chat histories, witnesses, copies with a date, gather them together. Furthermore, the copy of the previous residence permit (both sides) and – if available – the copy of the supplementary sheet for the residence permit are required.

4) Don't forget to mention your cell phone number in the mail!

Mr. Eilhardt will offer you an initial consultation. If further steps are necessary, e.g. For example, to file a complaint with the administrative court, please follow these further steps:

1) If further counseling is required, apply to the court for a counseling certificate → https://justiz.de/service/formular/dateien/agI1.pdf

Go to a lawyer with this advice certificate.

3) If it is necessary to file a lawsuit to stop the order to leave the country, apply for legal aid. Here you will find information on how to apply →  https://justiz.de/service/formular/dateien/zp1a.pdf

4) Note that there are fees for applying for counseling and legal aid. You will also pay a certain fee to the lawyer, which may differ from lawyer to lawyer, but is small.

5) If there are any further steps that need to be taken, the lawyer will discuss them with you
